Summer 2025 Mission Report

How can we begin to describe all that God did this summer? How can we truly capture the team the Holy Spirit assembled to reach the nations of Spain and Portugal this past June? We will do our best to put it into words.

On June 14, One to the Other Ministries (OTTOM) brought together a passionate group of team members from Oklahoma, Texas, and Connecticut to embark on a jam-packed mission filled with performances, work projects, and Vacation Bible School ev

ents—across two countries and in two languages. Our first stop was Seville by air, then Cadiz by ground.

Team leaving from Tulsa & our first flight

Our journey began with travel delays, ultimately, what was supposed to be a 9:00 p.m. arrival at our summer home, the SHALOM retreat center in Cadiz, turned into a 1:13 a.m. arrival—(8:13 a.m. Tulsa time). Despite the fatigue, the team demonstrated incredible resilience, joy, and commitment. They were ready and willing to serve.

The next morning, we began with breakfast and devotions. Each team member had an assigned day to share, and day after day we were blessed with incredible wisdom, encouragement, and passion. It quickly became clear: this was no ordinary team. This team was anointed.

Eleven Cities in Sixteen Days

Our Spain/Portugal tour covered 11 cities in just 16 days, with Malaga being the only city we visited twice. Malaga, a three-hour drive from Cadiz, was home to Colegio San Jose—a Jesuit school with over 1,800 students. This impressive institution offers education from kindergarten through high school, as well as post-secondary training in trades such as automotive, HVAC, electricity, and plumbing—all at no cost to the students. We were honored with a tour and inspired by their vision for the city’s future.

At the school, our team presented three performances of our dramatic dance production, SPELLBOUND, which were enthusiastically received by students, professors, and school leaders. We later learned OTTOM was the first Christian (non-Catholic),  American group to perform at the school. It was an incredible honor. We are confident that the words spoken and seeds planted will not return void—God’s Word never does. More fruit will come.

Our schedule was intense—long days and short nights—but this team was focused. Their energy came not from sleep, but from prayer and worship. Worship broke out in unexpected places: in vans, at the dining table, and even around the pool.

One particularly memorable evening, while four of our leaders led a marriage encounter in another city with 13 Spanish couples, the remaining team at SHALOM spontaneously began a powerful time of worship at the pool. No prompting. No leadership direction. Just Spirit-led students responding to God. As the sun set over Cadiz, praise filled the air. When we heard what had happened, our hearts were full. We knew—without a doubt—God was moving deeply in this team, and that anointing would overflow into the lives they touched.

A Generation Hungry for Jesus

While news headlines often portray this generation as lost, we are here to testify—not all is lost! There is a movement of young people who are hungry for Jesus, who long to know Him and share Him with a broken world.

Our ministry looked different in every city: we performed SPELLBOUND in plazas, churches, open-air venues, and even during a pride celebration. God opened doors everywhere—for us to love, to share, and to encourage the Church in Spain.

My “Jesus moment” was sharing my whole testimony for the first time at the youth encounter, because the night before during worship I felt convicted that I had never given a fully honest testimony before, I had always left out the most important/private details. The support I received afterward from this team exemplified how Jesus felt about me; he loves my sensitive heart because that’s how he made me to be. There were so many more personal moments that accompanied that on the trip but that’s the big one that started it.

My Jesus moment was when we hosted the youth encounter at Shalom. It was really cool to see a group of kids from the other side of the world praise and worship similar to what I see at fusion. I also felt really good about my testimony and really felt the Holy Spirit in that room.

Andrea Hogue

My Jesus moment was being in the prison and witnessing their eagerness to have meaning and receive encouragement.

I felt God so much on this trip.  Just being on the trip God was showing me his plan for my life and how he is always there with me. Right before the last performance when the speakers were not working Claire, Addison and I felt lead to pray in a small circle. As we took turns praying the speakers kept popping then when we said Amen they immediately started working. All three of us had chills after that.

Ronda: A City Waiting for the Gospel

Stunning city of Ronda!

In the breathtaking city of Ronda (population 80,000), there is only one evangelical church. In the surrounding region—40 towns and villages—there are none. It was humbling.

We partnered with Pastor Ezequiel, a visionary man who simply wants to love people, tell them about Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit do the rest. Before our evening performance in front of the Catholic Basilica and City Hall, we broke into teams for a prayer walk. That night, we ministered not only to Spaniards, but also to visitors from Austria, Germany, and Russia. God’s strategy knows no borders. We believe with Pastor Ezequiel that Ronda will never be the same again.

Portugal: A New Chapter

After Spain, we turned our focus to Portugal—specifically, the city of Lagos, a popular vacation spot filled with wealth and spiritual complexity. Unlike many areas of Spain, Lagos has several evangelical churches, thanks mostly to South American pastors and missionaries.

Our main contact was Pastor Pablo, a former drug cartel leader who had a life-transforming encounter with Jesus. Just eight months before our visit, he planted a small but vibrant church in Lagos. With only about 35 members, the church may be small in number, but not in faith or love.

My Jesus moment was during worship in the church in Portugal. There was such a strong sense of unity within the body of Christ between believers from all over the world, and the Holy Spirit was there bringing us all together. Even though Portugal may be spiritually dry, I could feel the love and passion the families had to share the gospel with their country, and I believe they’re going to make such a huge impact in Lagos.

Daisy Barnard

One of my many Jesus moments from the trip was in the church in Portugal. They started the service with the song Gods Not Dead and I really felt the holy spirit during that song and especially during the other one they sang. I had no idea what I was singing but I just felt the joy of the Lord throughout the whole night. Then later at the water, I put in an airpod to listen to worship, the first song that played was Gods Not Dead and I felt God was really communicating to me how he’s still living and thriving in Portugal, Spain, and just in general! 💗

On our final day of ministry, Pastor Pablo secured permission for us to perform in the city’s main tourist plaza. Surrounded by restaurants, shops, and gelato stands, we performed for over 400 people—many of whom recorded the entire drama. Our team shared the Gospel boldly. Some prayed with locals, others with tourists. One group prayed with a family from San Diego, California, to receive Christ. This is what ministry looks like—bold, joyful, and Spirit-led.

My Jesus moment was after our last performance. I got the chance to encourage a 16 and 17 year old girls in their faith. They were both Christians and had felt like they were struggling to find a way to deepen their faith. It was cool to be able to talk about something that I have personal experience with.

We Give Thanks

OTTOM is deeply grateful for the 33 faith-filled individuals who answered the call of the Great Commission this past June. We also want to thank every church, organization, and individual who supported our team financially and covered us in prayer. You are partakers in this summer’s harvest. May God return your gift to you abundantly.
