A Heartfelt Thank You
Before we share the incredible highlights of our mission trip, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our supporters. Your prayers and contributions made it possible for us to serve in the Dominican Republic. From providing medical care to sharing the love of Christ, this trip was a testament to the power of partnership in ministry.
Day 1: Serving a Neighborhood in Crisis
Our first day of clinics brought us to a neighborhood devastated by a recent fire. Fifteen families had lost nearly everything, but thankfully, no lives were lost. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, we were privileged to provide medical attention to these families and their neighbors, offering tangible support in their time of need.
Our American-Dominican medical team worked at two locations and saw 86 patients that day. It was a powerful reminder of why we return to the Dominican Republic year after year: to bring hope and healing in Jesus’ name.
Clinics in Familiar Places: A Joyful Reunion
As the week progressed, we held clinics in Montecristi and Villa Vásquez—locations rich with memories for our team. Villa Vásquez was where our journey in the Dominican Republic began 14 years ago, and returning there felt like coming home.
One special moment came when a young woman helping at the clinic shared, “I met you when I was seven.” Now a college student, her words were a beautiful reminder of the seeds planted so many years ago.
Final Clinics: Serving with Love
Our last clinics, held in Maizal and other beloved locations, were a fitting conclusion to a week of ministry. Maizal holds a special place in our hearts because of the warmth and gratitude of its people. Over the course of the week, our team provided medical care to hundreds of patients, each one a precious opportunity to share God’s love.
Sunday Worship: A Celebration of God’s Goodness
As our time in the Dominican Republic came to a close, we gathered for a final Sunday service. One of our team members shared a message from the Word, and Jeff Brucculeri blessed the congregation by playing his trumpet. It was a joyful celebration of all God had done during our time in the country.
Reflecting on 14 Years of Ministry
This trip marked OTTOM’s 11th mission to the Dominican Republic in 14 years. Over time, our relationships with local contacts have grown into a deep bond—like family. Returning again and again has shown the people of this nation that our work is rooted in love.
As we reflect on the past 13 days, we are tired but overwhelmingly grateful. To all who prayed for and supported this mission, and to our local partners in the Dominican Republic: GRACIAS/Thank you!
May God continue to bless the Dominican Republic, and may the seeds planted during this trip bear fruit for His Kingdom.
