Big Dreams for 2024, Yes Lord!

As 2024 approaches our hearts are looking at the upcoming year with joy! For many years OTTOM has been ministering in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Cuba and we are excited to imagine the increased impact adding a second trip each year would add. We also look forward to the new opportunity of traveling to Southeast Asia, and a new outreach to couples in ministry. Thank you for partnering with us in all the Lord has for OTTOM in 2024!

In the DR, we have established a community of local doctors, nurses, and ministers that are willing, equipped, and ready to bring life, via the Gospel of Christ and via medical attention, to some of the most underserved areas in this beautiful country. OTTOM’s impact on this nation has been going on for 11 years and we look forward to continuing to invest in the communities there. As our group of local medical professionals grows and we continue to bring groups from the US, we can add to the number of patients we are able to serve on clinic days! We’re dreaming of more clinics and more medicine given in 2024.

In Mexico, we have had a partnership with our dear friends from Rancho 3M, a precious orphanage on the US/Mexico border in the town of Guadalupe. OTTOM just returned from our 7th trip, and it was an amazing time to be there, to minister to the 48 children and staff of this God-centered orphanage. Every time OTTOM comes, we provide a one-day medical clinic for all the children and any staff and family members associated with R3M and their school. Throughout our week at Ranch 3M we are able to do various work projects, spend time with the kids each day after school, and encourage the staff. Our trips to R3M have become some of our OTTOM teams favorite mission trips! One of OTTOM’s dreams is to increase our presence to two trips/year, instead of just October.

Cuba, oh yes Cuba! Visiting our neighbors to the south (90 miles from Key West, FL) is a trip that is so, so close to our hearts. This trip is truly a unique relational feast as we spend time visiting and encouraging our Cuban brothers and sisters.   OTTOM wants to continue making a difference in the ministry that is being done in Ciego de Avila/Moron via our dear brother and friend Pastor Reinaldo Roque and his precious family.

Since the pandemic started, OTTOM has faithfully supported the efforts of the Roque family on a monthly basis. OTTOM has done this as an act of obedience, even when it was not in our budget. Several times we upped our giving to facilitate a special need or event taking place in Cuba. Several of our OTTOMers have stepped up and helped. We are so thankful to each of you and we pray it comes back to you over and over again.

Cuba is a destination we would like to start coming to twice a year instead of just every November. We would like to make this a May and November trip. Also, we would like to bring with us as much medicine, clothing, and supplies for the ministry there as possible. Please pray for open doors and all the logistics in Cuba to be in place for these trips to happen.

As part of the expansion to our vision, we are working on creating a small team of 3-4 couples dedicated to encouraging pastors and leaders with a weekend retreat we will call “Parejas” (Couples) Seminars. Parejas Seminars will see small teams traveling 2-4 times a year to international and domestic destinations, providing a weekend retreat to encourage and build up local couples in ministry. Invitations have been received from:

  • Mazatlán, Mexico
  • Montecristi, Dominican Republic
  • Oradea, Romania
  • Budapest, Hungary
  • San Juan, Puerto Rico
  • Fairhope, Alabama

Another amazing opportunity presented to OTTOM for 2024 is to partner with CBN-Asia. OTTOM has received an invitation to come to the SE Asia nations of Cambodia and Thailand for evangelistic outreach and a youth event in these mainly Buddhist nations. The Christian Broadcasting Network of Asia will open doors for OTTOM to bring the life-changing message of Jesus to these nations that are bound by religious and traditional chains. We plan on taking our drama team in June, please pray with us as we prepare this team.
